A Quest for Simplicity

“To infinity and beyond!”

“Everything should be as simple as it can be, but not simpler.”
–Albert Einstein

I am on a quest. And no, not the dragon-slaying type. I am on a quest for simplicity. I’ve been on this journey for over 4 months now attempting to discover what simplicity looks like for a believer in Jesus. What for? What does it entail? What does it look like in the end? Hold your horses. I don’t have all the answers just yet. But I’ll find out.

I write my thoughts on simplicity in this blog. I invite readers to share insights and to help unravel the complexity of simplicity. What an oxymoron.

As the tagline of this blog suggests, it’s a Christian’s journey to simplicity. It's not a mechanic’s journey to simplicity. It's not an accountant’s journey to simplicity. It's not Michael Jordan’s journey to simplicity. You get the point. It’s a Christian’s journey to simplicity. Simply put, a Christian is somebody who follows Jesus to become more like Jesus in every way. And I believe this includes, as a necessity, movement towards living a simple lifestyle (not a very popular idea in North American Christianity, mind you). This blog will no doubt prove useful to a mechanic, an accountant, and who knows, maybe even Michael Jordan. But it’s only useful insofar as it pertains to them believing in the Lord Jesus Christ and seeking to follow His values and His ways. And so it’s important for readers to know that there is a distinct Christian bent to this blog.

And so with that in mind, let the discoveries begin.

“To simplicity and beyond.”
